ILLINOIS ELECTRIC WORKS ADDING MORE POWER IN GRANITE CITY!
For the third time in the last decade Illinois Electric Works has built additional floor space in Granite City to expand operations. This time Illinois Electric Works has added 7500 sq ft of high cube warehouse space to house an increased inventory of electric motors and electronic drive components.
Since acquiring the former Illinois Power facility in 1999 and moving its operations from East St. Louis, where it had operated continuously since 1931, Illinois Electric Works has expanded from 40000 sq ft to over 60000 sq ft. and doubled employment from 25 persons to nearly 50 persons.
Illinois Electric Works is a privately held electrical and mechanical apparatus rebuilder and equipment supplier serving industries such as electrical power plants, refineries, mines, water treatment plants, steel mills, foundries and other commercial and industrial clients.
In the face of regional lay-offs, plant closings and capacity reductions the successful company continues to expand its operations. It is a key supplier of goods and services related to energy efficiency and a key ally in Ameren’s “ActOnEnergyTM” programs for Illinois and Missouri.
