Centrifugal Fan & Blower Repair

Centrifugal fans have been around since the late 1500s. These powerful fans were used to help ventilate the mines until they seemed to become extinct. Decades later, in the nineteenth century, the centrifugal fan came back.

These fans are mechanical devices used to move air and gases at an angle to the incoming fluid. Centrifugal fans and blowers usually have 1 of 8 types of wheels that pull the air into the inlet of the blower, through the wheel, and then out at a 90-degree angle. A blower or blower fan, also known as a squirrel-cage fan due to its look, is the ducted housing that directs the outgoing air in a particular direction. The small ones used in computers are often called biscuit blowers. Centrifugal fans and blowers are quiet, reliable, sturdy, and capable of functioning in various conditions.

There are two common types of blowers: pressure and volume blowers. The design of the volume blower is to draw or push out large volumes of air. On the other hand, the pressure blower pushes or draws out air at high pressures. The most common centrifugal fan is the roof ventilation fan. These fans can be found in commercial labs and kitchens.
